The Crescent Moon grew from a deep love of the land and sea, shaped by a childhood growing up along the Great Ocean Road, where the bush met the sea and nature was both playground and teacher. Those early days instilled in me a lifelong reverence for the rhythms of the earth: the pull of the tides, the shifting light of the moon, and the steady warmth of the rising sun.

Growing up surrounded by bushland and open ocean taught me to listen, to the hum of the sea breeze through the trees, the glow of the morning sun, and the quiet pull of the lunar cycle. It’s this connection to nature that continues to inspire everything we do at The Crescent Moon.

At the heart of The Crescent Moon is a belief in living in tune with nature. We honour the changing moon, the rising sun, and the balance that exists in every season. These quiet patterns guide us to slow down, give thanks, and walk lightly on the earth. Simple living in nature, cave hunting, cloud watching and aurora chasing are our loves and walking on the wild rugged remote earth with respect.

We’re inspired by the old earth religions and Celtic traditions that saw the divine in every tree, stone, and stream. The moon, with her soft changing light, has long symbolised intuition and the flow of life’s cycles. The sun represents vitality, renewal, and strength, each sunrise a quiet reminder of new beginnings. The seasons, ever turning, invite us to celebrate life’s transitions and our connection to the land that sustains us.

The Crescent Moon is also home to our Earthfolk collection, a creative reflection of our love for wild places, expressed through printed t-shirts and bags inspired by nature, individuality, and creative freedom.

We’re proud to be based in the beautiful Surf Coast and Colac Otway region of Victoria. Our love for the Otways and the Great Ocean Road runs deep, born and bred here, we honour and respect the lands and ocean that continue to shape us. We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of these lands, the Wadawurrung, Gulidjan, and Gadubanud peoples and acknowledge their enduring connection to country.

After years of travelling and living in every state across Australia, from sun-soaked coasts to the rugged outback, our hearts have always been called home to this place of misty forests and wild seas. It is here, among the gum trees and salt air, that The Crescent Moon continues to grow.
