16" 40cm Shamanic Drum – Goat Hide with white binding | Includes Beater & Padded Carry Bag

Connect with the steady rhythm of this handcrafted 16" shamanic drum, made from natural goat hide stretched over a durable wooden frame with a comfortable wooden handle and featured white binding. Producing rich, earthy tones, it is well suited to shamanic journeying, meditation, sound healing, ceremonies, or personal practice.

Every drum has its own natural markings and character, as the unique textures and colour variations of the goat hide make no two exactly alike. Measuring approximately 40cm (16 inches) in diameter, it delivers a warm, resonant sound suitable for both beginners and experienced drummers.

Supplied with a padded beater and a protective carry bag, this drum is ready to use and easy to take wherever your practice leads. The lightweight wooden frame offers strength without unnecessary weight, while the padded bag provides protection during storage and transport.

Combining traditional craftsmanship with natural materials, this shamanic drum is a beautiful instrument for rhythm, ceremony, meditation, or anyone who appreciates authentic handcrafted percussion.

Care for your drum is important to maintain its sound and longevity. Natural hide is sensitive to heat and humidity. Avoid leaving the drum in direct sunlight or in hot environments such as inside a car, as this can cause the skin to dry out, tighten too much, or even crack. In dry or hot conditions, store the drum in a cool, shaded place.

Changes in humidity can affect the tension of the skin. In high humidity, the hide may become looser and produce a duller tone; in low humidity, it may become very tight. You can gently warm the drum near a mild heat source or with your hands to temporarily tighten the skin before playing if needed.

To keep the goat hide in good condition, you can occasionally (once every 12 months) apply a small amount of natural oil, such as shea butter or neatsfoot oil. Neatsfoot oil is commonly used on saddles and is a good option. You can also use a very light olive oil making sure its as clear and light as you can get. This helps prevent the hide from drying out and cracking. Always apply sparingly and test on a small area first as some darker oils can change the colour of the drum. Avoid oils that solidify, like coconut oil.

With proper care, this drum will continue to offer rich, resonant sound and spiritual connection for many years to come.
